MacArthur’s Appliances Sold to New Ownership

Charlottetown, PE: MacArthur’s Appliances and Mattress Gallery, a Charlottetown-based appliance and mattress store, has been sold to new owners, in a deal brokered by Confederation M&A.

MacArthur’s Appliances has been family-owned and operated by Carman and Donna MacArthur for over 35 years. MacArthur’s was built by selecting the right brands of appliances to sell, product knowledge, and servicing what they sold. They also specialize in parts for all brands of appliances.

The business started in the MacArthur family garage as a one-man service company, servicing all brands. The company’s next step was selling used appliances and eventually new appliances, selling the brands they knew required the least amount of service. MacArthur’s moved to its present location, 96 Mt. Edward Road, Charlottetown, in 1987 and has expanded the building several times to accommodate growth. In 1998 their Simmons Mattress Gallery opened.

The buyers of the business are islanders, Trevor Bevan, Jordan Fraser and Chris Welton. Chris will assume the role of day-to-day operating owner.

“Trevor, Jordan, and Chris have taken over the business as of June 16th, 2021 and have demonstrated great customer service to all of our valued customers”, said Carman MacArthur. “We know the business is in good hands for years to come!”

“As new owners, our promise is to provide the utmost in quality customer service and an enhanced buying experience. We make buying local easy, by offering the most reliable brands at a competitive price point, backed up with a parts and service team!” says Chris Welton
