Abegweit Animal Hospital is a long-standing small animal veterinary clinic that has been servicing the needs of pet owners in Prince Edward Island for over 30 years. It has been operating at its current location on McAulay Court in Charlottetown since 1998 under the ownership of Dr. David Condon and Lisa Purcell.

“I have had the privilege of working with Dr. Profit and Dr. Matters at Abegweit Animal Hospital and I wish them nothing but the best as they transition into this new leadership role”, says former owner Dr. David Condon, “I am very confident that under their new ownership, Abegweit Animal Hospital will continue to provide the same excellent service to our valued clients”.

Dr. Profit and Dr. Matters are both graduates of the Atlantic Veterinary College (“AVC”). Both also heavily involved in the Veterinary community across Prince Edward Island. Dr. Matters and Dr. Profit currently serve as the President and Vice-President, respectively, of the PEI Veterinary Medical Association (“PEIVMA”).

Profit and Matters look forward to their new role as co-owners of the clinic and added in a joint statement, “Dr. Condon has set the bar high when it comes to service and dedication in the industry. We are very much looking forward to building on the legacy and working with the great staff that are in place to continue on this tradition.”

As part of the transition to new ownership, both Dr. Condon and Lisa Purcell will be staying on to work at the clinic and support the new owners.
